A Little Halloween Fun!

When we first moved back to Texas from California, 6 years ago, we had just moved into our new home in October.  One day I opened up the front door to find a Halloween goody bag sitting on my front porch!  To this day I still don’t know who left it there, but inside I found a cute poem and lots of fun cute Halloween things.  It totally made my day in our new neighborhood!

Since that year, I’ve tried to do the Boo Treats every October.   Although I’ve missed a few years, I thought it would be fun to start it here in our new neighborhood!

The idea behind the Boo Treats is that you make 2 gift bags and secretly leave them at 2 different neighbors doors with a poem inside and a friendly ghost picture.  The poem explains the gift and instructions to make 2 additional gifts and pass on the surprise, the friendly ghost picture gets taped to the front door to let the neighborhood know that you’ve been “Booed.”  It is so much fun to watch who gets “Booed” and to watch the neighbors sneaking around leaving treats at the front doors of neighbors.

Remember the 2 FREE pumpkin pails I got at CVS?  Well, they will make the perfect containers for our Boo Treats this year!  (If you didn’t get your free pails at CVS, regular gift bags work great too!)  Last night after the kids were in their pj’s we walked over to neighbors houses and left the pumpkin pails with goodies inside on their doorstep!  The boys were so cute sneaking up their driveways!  This morning when we left for school we noticed that both neighbors already had the friendly ghost taped on their doors!  The boys were so excited!

Here’s the goodies that were in our bags:

Vist this site to print copies of the poem and the friendly ghost picture.
