Bluebonnets To Peaches

Another “Quick to the Table” Idea

I declared today “baking day.”  I knew I would be spending most of the day baking up our Christmas treats to share with others and that means that at 5:00pm the last thing I would want to do is prepare dinner. I also knew that I probably couldn’t do the pizza thing again tonight, although I’m sure the kids wouldn’t mind!

Of course the most logically thing to do in this case is to pull out the crock pot! While I baked cookies all day, the crock pot was cooking our dinner.

I used the following recipe that I originally got from Sheri at The Loopy Ewe. This is one of those great recipes that has great flavor, uses simple ingredients that you probably have on hand all the time and since the chicken can be put in the crock pot frozen, it requires no pre planning!

Ingredients:

  • 6 Chicken Breasts (can be thawed or frozen)
  • 1 package of onion soup mix
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 can of Cream of Mushroom soup

Dump all ingredients into the crock pot.  Cook on low for 6-8 hours.  Serve over rice or noodles.  Enjoy!

Yummmmm….sounds good! Bringing any baked goods to Texas, along with your kitchen sink?
